2014 Ride to Conquer Cancer

Hi all! I hope you have been enjoying the posts of some of my favorite pictures from past and current photography sessions.

I'd love for you to read today's post, which is a little different, but very much related to my photography. This post is about my father, a two-time cancer survivor, who is making efforts to support cancer research in America. Attached in this post is a link to visit his page where he tells his story, shares his mission to give back,  and encourages others to share their own stories of  battles with cancer.

All my life, I have never known my dad to be without a MINIMUM of two cameras at all times; dSLR, video camera, point and shoot, smartphone, etc. If there is a gene for photography, I sure did inherit it from him! As my photography hobby developed, our dueling cameras became a source of amusement for our family. (Toss my grandfather-his father-in the mix and there were at least 6 cameras on the event at all times!)  For several years, he would say "Man, I am not in any pictures." So, in recent years, I have made it a point to take his picture any chance I can. (Hence the above collage!) Note: Thanks to smartphone technology, he is now able to capture “selfie's” on a regular basis!

Cancer is a disease that does not discriminate. It affects children and adults, men and women; it affects all races, all classes, and all religions. Chances are that all of our families have been affected by cancer in one way or another. In the United States, giant leaps in cancer research changed my father’s 3 year life-expectancy to FULL REMISSION 10 years later.

I am so thankful that my father is healthy enough to participate in the 2014 Ride to Conquer Cancer to raise funds for cancer research in America. Lifestyle Session: Twins Reece and Reagan

Meet adorable baby girls Reece and Reagan!! These twins were born quickly and unexpectedly at only 33 weeks, and now at almost 3 months old they have distinct and vibrant personalities that made them a ton of fun to photograph. I must add, they have the most patient mommy who worked with me for almost 5 hours to keep them warm, fed, changed, and happy - NOT easy with two at a time!!

Dance Class!

I had the fun opportunity to take some pictures during the toddler dance classes at the Cecil County YMCA in Elkton. They turned out really cute!! Enjoy!

Kylie Turns One!

My little Kylie turned one this past December. This year went by way too quickly and her first birthday was bittersweet. I miss her being a tiny baby, but I love watching her grow into her own person. She is curious, active, adventurous, and silly. It warms my heart to watch her develop a relationship with her big sister. I love her with all of my heart! Happy birthday to Kylie, she will always be my baby girl!

Running around after toddlers all day with a camera is no easy feat! Here are some great shots I was able to get of these energetic little ones:

Full of energy and a desire to mow the leaves, resting only for a nutritious snack, little Wyatt ran through the yard like every worry-free 2-year-old should. Occasionally, he would stop to glance at the lady chasing him around with the camera. (Dad even hid the lawnmower in an attempt for a sitting pose, you can see the joy when he discovered it's location!)

Soon to be 2, O'Reily, was so happy to run free and play "Touchdown!" He was not impressed by my efforts to make him smile and look my way, but I still caught a few glimpses of those beautiful baby blues on camera! Happy 2nd birthday little guy!
